Black Student Achievement
Black Student Achievement serves as a liaison among other offices within the Division of Student Affairs and academic departments on topics related to African American students, faculty and staff.

About Black Student Achievement
Black Student Achievement provides university wide services and support programming in many areas, such as cultural enrichment, racial awareness, ethnicity, diversity, leadership training and organizational development. To achieve its goals, Black Student Achievement sponsors a number of academic, cultural and social events. Special interest programs address African American and other minority concerns. Black Student Achievement collaborates on many of their programs with other departments within the division in order to meet its goals.
Mission Statement
Promote quality services and programs related to the retention, progression and graduation of African Americans attending Georgia State University by providing resources and advocating for their academic success, degree attainment, co-curricular involvement, cultural heritage and international and educational diversity. The primary focus of Black Student Achievement is to build a culture of care. Black Student Achievement’s goals are to provide access, innovation and inclusion in all of our services.

Services Provided
Advocacy
Black Student Achievement can advocate for students individually to resolve an issue or help them to develop the skills needed to advocate for themselves. Black Student Achievement can work with groups to help them develop an advocacy approach. From societal issues of social justice to campus involvement and inclusion, Black Student Achievement is committed to supporting the student voice.
Computer Lab
Black Student Achievement provides a computer lab designated for students to prepare resumes, research papers and homework assignments and search for information on the internet. Windows computers are equipped with Microsoft Word, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. iMacs are available as well. The lab is a designated area for students who want to study in a quiet environment or surf the web.

Black Student Achievement provides services that promote the academic success, retention and degree attainment of students at Georgia State University.
