Registering for Classes
We’ve broken down the course registration process into a few easy steps. Check out our registration how-to videos for a quick tutorial.
Note: The deadline to drop a course without penalty is the first Friday of the first week of class each semester, and the deadline to withdraw is the midpoint of each semester. Specific dates are listed on the academic calendar. It is important to check with your high school counselor about internal deadlines.
Textbooks
General Information About Your Textbooks
In partnership with Georgia State and the Follett bookstore at Georgia State, the campus college bookstores will loan/rent required textbooks/digital materials to Dual Enrollment students with the understanding that textbooks which you receive which have a blue “Rental Book” sticker attached, must be returned by you to the Georgia State Bookstore at the end of the semester. The Dual Enrollment textbook rental program is only for DE students who use DE funding to pay for their classes. If you have exhausted your DE funding, and are paying out of pocket for any classes, you must pay out of pocket for those textbooks and digital materials.
The only textbooks/digital materials that can be obtained from the bookstore are for the college classes that your school counselor has listed on your Dual Enrollment Funding application in GAFutures.org.
If your class is an online course, you must go to the Dunwoody, Clarkston, or Newton campus bookstores in person.
Call your Georgia State bookstore ahead of time to verify their hours. Phone numbers are listed below. Please direct all questions related to textbooks to the bookstores:

Picking Up Your Textbooks
Note: Each campus bookstore-only carries books for that campus. You can pick up textbooks for online courses at Perimeter’s Dunwoody, Clarkston and Newton campuses. Only the student will be permitted to pick up his/her textbook.
Follow these 4 easy steps:
1
|
Atlanta campus DE students: All textbook materials and digital codes must be picked up in person at the Atlanta campus bookstore. Perimeter College DE Students: All textbooks and digital codes must be picked up in person on the campus where the class is taught. If your class is taught online you must use the Newton, Clarkston, or Dunwoody campus bookstore. |
2
|
Take the completed form to the same GSU campus bookstore where the course is taught. Perimeter Online Classes: Textbook materials for online courses must be picked up at the Dunwoody, Clarkston, or Newton campus bookstores. |
3
|
DO NOT open shrink-wrapped, sealed books or access codes until you confirm with your professor (on the first day of class) that you have the correct materials. Make sure you’re committed to taking the course before opening your materials. |

For the latest information on how to continue at Georgia State after graduating from high school, contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 404-413-2500 or [email protected]. You can request that an official transcript be sent to another college or university through your PAWS account. Follow these steps: At the end of each semester, the Dual Enrollment Office will work with the Office of Registrar to send your grades to your high school. All dual enrollment students must obtain written consent from their high school counselor to withdraw from a course. Counselors must email the Dual Enrollment Office to approve the student’s withdraw request. Once the consent form has been approved, the Dual Enrollment Office will contact the student with further steps to withdraw. PAWS is Georgia State’s Panther Access to Web Services student portal. It provides students, faculty and staff with personalized access to a wide range of campus resources in a single location. You can register for classes, access your PantherMail, request official transcripts and more through PAWS. Every student is issued a PantherCard as a form of official university identification. Carry it with you at all times on campus. More information about the PantherCard.Current Students FAQs - DE
