Orientation
All newly admitted dual enrollment students are required to complete Dual Enrollment Orientation. During orientation, you’ll learn how to navigate the university’s course scheduler, register for classes for upcoming semesters and get details on important dates.

Note: The deadline to drop a course without penalty is the first Friday of the first week of class each semester, and the deadline to withdraw is the midpoint of each semester. Specific dates are listed on the academic calendar.

Note: It will take 48-72 hours from the time of acceptance before you can access student systems to complete these next steps.

Apply for Funding Through GAFutures. All students must submit the new online Funding Application located on gafutures.org. Dual Enrollment holds are lifted for registration in date order once the student, parent, and high school counselor have completed the form. High School counselors must list the approved courses each semester. |

Find and Activate Your CampusID. Your CampusID will be your primary identification as a Georgia State Panther. First, look up your CampusID, and then make sure you activate it as soon as possible. Your CampusID is different from your nine-digit Panther number. |

Get DUO. Once you’ve activated your Campus ID and Username, head over to the Duo Activation App to set up your mobile device or phone number for multifactor authentication. DUO helps make sure that it’s really you accessing your emails. This must be completed BEFORE you set up your PantherMail student email account. Questions? Visit gsu.edu/duo |

Set up your Georgia State email account (Panthermail) at technology.gsu.edu/panthermail. Set up this account right away. Georgia State will send all important emails to your Georgia State email address. |

Complete online orientation. You will receive an email invite to register for Dual Enrollment Orientation. The email is sent to your personal email account 3 to 4 days after the acceptance letter. DO NOT register for orientation through PAWS (Panther Access to Web Services). |

Get Familiar with PAWS (Panther Access to Web Services). Use the PAWS Web portal to access your student records at paws.gsu.edu.

Take the Foreign Language Placement Exam. Students may take the exam from any computer with internet access and a browser. Each test takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. No outside materials may be used during the exam. Please be advised that if you take the exam more than once, only the first score will count. Please allow 3 business days for your exam to be processed. Take the Emmersion Exam for the Atlanta Campus students only. Take the Emmersion Exam for the Perimeter College students only. |

Verify citizenship and lawful presence for in-state tuition. Admitted students who are seeking in-state tuition must meet the Citizenship Verification and Lawful Presence requirements detailed at admissions.gsu.edu/lawful-presence. Learner’s permits and high school identification cards are not accepted. Once you have uploaded your document please email the Admission office at [email protected] to let them know it is there and ready for review. |

Submit AP, IB scores or Official College Transcripts (if applicable). You may be eligible for college credit for most AP exams on which you scored 3 or higher and most higher-level IB examinations on which you scored a 5 or better. The code for GSU is 5251. If you attended a different college and would like transfer credit please submit the official transcript to the Admissions Office for review. |

Submit required immunizations for MMR, Tetanus/Diphtheria, Varicella and Hepatitis B. Immunization Form available here. Visit health.gsu.edu for more details and contact information. The Immunization Portal opens 5 to 7 days after you register for courses. |

Complete and submit the Recreation Center waiver. You only need to complete this waiver if you plan to use the Student Recreation Center and will be under the age of 18 at the time of enrollment. |

Plan your transportation and parking. Dual enrollment students are not permitted to live on campus. All Georgia State students are allowed to bring vehicles. For more information about parking fees, MARTA and shuttle services, visit parking.gsu.edu. |

Dual enrollment funding is offered through the Georgia Student Finance Commission (GSFC). For more information, visit gafutures.org/hope-state-aid-programs/scholarships-grants/dual-enrollment/.
Check your application status or upload any documents at https://gradapply.gsu.edu/apply/status.
After you complete your application, submit your official high school transcript and any test scores. Once you have created a completed file (including your application, test scores and high school transcript) allow 14-21 business days before your application status becomes available.
Submit any Advancement Placement (AP) scores to Georgia State using code: 5251 (Collegeboard). A $15 fee may be assessed for submission. This fee is not covered by Georgia State.
Students can choose which test scores they’d like to share with the university: the SAT, ACT or PSAT. Ask your high school counselor to submit your PSAT scores to Georgia State.
Applying for the Dual Enrollment Program at Georgia State is quick and easy. Keep in mind:
- You can access the undergraduate application at gsu.edu.
- If you’re applying for the Atlanta Campus, select “Bachelor’s Degree.” If you’re applying for a Perimeter Campus, select “Associate Degree.”
- There is no application fee.
