Georgia State has developed a guide for first-generation students that will take you from exploring schools to succeeding in your first year as a new college student. You can gather insight and find helpful tips and real-life stories from other first-generation students just like you.
Coca-Cola First-Generation Scholarship
The Coca-Cola First-Generation Scholars Fund will provide scholarships for first-generation college students at the Atlanta and Perimeter College campuses. For the sake of this scholarship, first-generation students are defined as applicants who have had neither a parent nor sibling attend college.
Atlanta Campus: Recipients will receive $5,000 per year, renewable for four years dependent on maintaining a 3.0 institutional GPA, full-time enrollment, participation in a Freshman Learning Community their first semester, and active involvement in specific events throughout the academic year. Additional support for adjusting to college life and professional development will be made available to every scholarship recipient. Apply here (applications close July 26, 2017)
Perimeter College: Recipients will receive $2,500 per year, renewable for two years dependent on maintaining a 3.0 institutional GPA, full-time enrollment, and active involvement in specific events throughout the academic year.
